Children Are Welcome

At Holy Trinity, we believe children are a vital part of the community and fully welcome their presence in worship.  Children can find a sense of identity and belonging in weekly worship, as well as Family Education Hour (Sunday School), which connects them with God and a faith family.

All worshiper responses and hymns are printed in a bulletin that is easy for children to follow and our services include a Children’s Message each week. For in-person worship, we also provide Spark Bibles in the pews, which are specifically designed to allow children in grades 3-6 to follow along with the Scripture readings.

Youth at Holy Trinity are also encouraged to participate as online or in-person worship volunteers by serving as acolytes, ushers, lectors, or greeters. On an annual Youth Sunday, our youth assume all worship leader and assistant roles.

If you’re a parent in need of childcare support during worship, please see our youth page.

Children in Communion

Holy Communion is open to children who understand the meaning of the sacrament, with no minimum age requirement.  Parents who believe their child is ready to participate in Holy Communion are given a short booklet to work through with their child and then the parents and child attend a one-time class with the Senior Pastor to ensure the child is ready to participate.

Worship Support for Parents

We know there are times when sitting for an hour can be too much for little ones. For in-person worship services, activity bags may be picked up from a wagon near the entrance to the Sanctuary to help occupy younger children. But you should always feel free to leave the Sanctuary with your child if you need to do so and we have resources to support parental worship in that situation. These include a livestream of the worship service being provided on a monitor in the seating area just outside the Sanctuary and a staffed Nursery just outside the Sanctuary, for children ages 0-5.
